The much-awaited trailer of Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly’s upcoming period drama Kayamkulam Kochunni released today and is receiving a positive response from the audience on social media. The trailer was launched by superstar Mohanlal. Nivin Pauly’s new rugged avatar and intense performance in the trailer had left us impressed. The trailer showcases the manhunt launched by British forces and the counter-attacks led by Nivin’s Kochunni. Mohanlal plays the role of Ithikkara Pakki and one would also get a glimpse of him at the end of the trailer. Mohanlal in an important cameo is something everyone is looking forward to.

Made on a grand scale, Kayamkulam Kochunni starring Nivin Pauly is said to be one of the biggest films in the actor’s career. Speaking at the trailer launch in Kochi, Nivin said, “This is one of the biggest films in our career.” He further added, “We shot for about nine months for this film and it is now in the post-production stage.”

The film is based on the life of Kayamkulam Kochunni, a famed highwayman who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor during the British Raj in the early 19th century Central Travancore.

Nora Fatehi, who was seen in special numbers in Baahubali, will be seen shaking a leg in a special dance number in Kayamkulam Kochunni. Nora is seen in the trailer too making it a special attraction. Nivin Pauly has also learnt the art of Kalaripayattu which is a martial art which originated in Kerala.
