The much-awaited movie Mahabharata, which will feature Complete Actor Mohanlal as Bheema, will go on floors in 2018 and hit the screens in 2020 according to reports. Mahabharata will be an adaptation of a book titled Randamoozham which is written by prominent writer and poet MT Vasudevan Nair. The book has the story of Mahabharata narrated from the perspective of Bheema and the makers wish to retain the same narrative in the film too.
With already so much buzz around it, Mahabharata has now received support from the most powerful man in India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sources close to unit of the film that the producer of the film, BR Shetty, has received a letter from Narendra Modi extending his support to the film. Modi mentioned that the film will be a matter of pride for India and he is waiting for the release of the film.
Mahabharata ran into trouble recently when few Hindu groups in Kerala protested against the use of Mahabharata as the title for the film. The outfit, headed by K. Sasikala, said that they will not allow the release of the film if the makers continue with Mahabharata as the title. Producer BR Shetty said recently that the film will be titled Randamoozham. Speaking about it he said,” The project will go on the floors in Abu Dhabi. I prospered and earned money in Abu Dhabi, so I want this film first to be shot in there before we move to other parts of the world.”
Being made on a mammoth budget of INR 1000 crores, the film will be released in many languages across India.
