During a recent interaction with a leading website, Malayalam star Prithviraj said that there is no need for a change of guard in AMMA. However, at the same time stressed that the organisation may need to change its stance on some matters keeping in mind recent changes in society.

“I don’t believe there is any need for a change of leadership in AMMA. There might require a change in AMMA’s stance according to the changes in society but that doesn’t mean the key post holders should be replaced,” he added.

In case you did not know, AMMA came under fire when it initially supported actor Dileep in the actress assault case. However, following the ‘Love 24×7’ star’s arrest, the organisation disowned him. In fact, while confirming his removal Mammootty had said that the organisation would support the victim to the fullest.

“Dileep has been removed from the primary membership of AMMA in view of his arrest. We will never favour a particular section of people in AMMA. The organization is for all. We are always with our sister. We have extended our support to her from the very beginning itself. We will stand by the victim,” he had added.

Around the same time, Prithviraj earned the respect of countless fans when he spoke out in the victim’s favour and urged AMMA to help her. This led to speculation about the younger generation taking charge of AMMA in the days to come. However, in light of Prithvi’s recent statement, it seems that such a thing will not be happening anytime soon.
