Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial debut, Lucifer, with Mohanlal in the lead will roll from 2018

Titled 'Lucifer', the film will have story penned down by Murali Gopy and the shooting of the film will begin in May 2018.

Actor Prithviraj Sukumuran has time and again hinted that he will take up direction at some stage in his career. There reports earlier that he will be directing a film with Mohanlal in the lead role but nothing much developed on that. However, latest reports suggest that Prithviraj’s directorial is still and Mohanlal will be playing the lead role. Titled ‘Lucifer’, the film will have story penned down by Murali Gopy and the shooting of the film will begin in May 2018.

Murali Gopy confirmed this during a social media interaction with his fans. “Prithviraj is like my brother and I expect our culmination to bring out a wonderful production,” he said during the interaction. Prithviraj, who recently completed 15 years in the film industry, is currently shooting for his upcoming film Detroit Crossing. Besides this film, Prithviraj has a bunch of films under his belt which are in various stages of production which include – Vimaanam, My Story and Aadu Jeevitham. If this film of Prithiviraj and Mohanlal goes on shooting floors, it will be the biggest release in Malayalam cinema.

On the other hand, The Complete Actor Mohanlal is gearing up for the release of ‘Villain’ which has him playing a retired police officer. Directed by B. Unnikrishnan, ‘Villain’ also stars Manju Warrier, Tamil actor Vishal and Hansika in important roles. The makers recently released the trailer of the film which gave a glimpse of what the film is going to be all about. ‘Villain’ is slated to be released this month.
