Is Prithviraj’s 9 a sci-fi horror thriller? Here is an update

A couple of days ago, noted actor Prithviraj took to the social media and unveiled the first look poster of his production venture with Sony. He also confirmed that the film would be called 9. Needless to say, this created a buzz amongst the fans for all the right reasons. Now, there is some exciting info about the film. According to a leading daily, 9 will be a sci-fi horror thriller and is going to be pretty different from anything Mollywood has seen in the past.

It is also believed that either Nithya Menen or Parvathy will be teaming up with Prithvi for this one. The film will be directed by Jenuse Mohamed who is best known for helming 100 days of Love. Interestingly, while announcing the film, Prithvi had said that he was grateful to everyone associated with the film for supporting him.

“From the creative heads at Sony, to Supriya, me and every single crew member you see in the credits, came on board for how new we thought the film and it’s premise was. Soon, we will also introduce you to the cast..and why we think this is a genuine first of its kind for Malayalam cinema (sic),” he had added.

Interestingly, 9 will be Prithvi’s first production venture under his new banner. While announcing the launch of his production house, he had said that it was his way of giving back to cinema.

We have always wanted to give back to the cinema and we couldn’t possibly think of a better way to do that than facilitate films which we believe will make Malayalam cinema proud. Why did it take one year? Why do we believe this could be the start of something very special for our industry? Why is this dream of ours effectively taking a step closer to the vision that I have always harboured for Malayalam cinema? These are all questions to which hopefully you’ll find answers in the next few announcements that will follow,” he had added.

So, are you looking forward to 9? Comments, please!
