2018 seems to be a rather busy and eventful year for the lovely Priya Anand. The versatile actor will soon be seen playing the female lead in the highly ambitious period-drama Kayamkulam Kochunni. And, as expected, she is quite excited about the film. While talking about the film, she told TOI that she feels happy to be part of such an ‘authentic’ film.

“I am really fortunate to get to work with a director like Rosshan and be a part of an epic like KK with some of our country’s best technicians and talents. It was always a dream to work in a period film and I’m so glad to be working on something so authentic like this,” she added.

Priya also revealed that a lot of research and pre-production work went into making the film as it is a period-drama. She added that an AD actually spent a year and a half on understanding the story’s background.

“Since it’s a period film and authentic to the story of Kochunni, a lot of research has been put in. One of our ADs, Monisha, researched the backdrop and stories for over a year and a half! The best thing about Malayalam cinema is how real all the characters are. So, once I get out of my caravan, it was like getting teleported back in time!” said Priya.

Interestingly, the lady turned down three films in order to take up Kayamkulam Kochunni. However, she has no qualms about it as she feels that it is a dream project of sorts.

“It’s not often that I get to work with someone as knowledgeable as Rosshan. And with Nivin and Mohanlal sir, this is one of the biggest films to look forward to this year. Nivin has so much honesty in his smile. Don’t let him trick you into thinking he’s a pavam! He’s such a brat. I’ve liked him from Neram and I’m looking forward to the audiences response to our characters,” added the actor.

So, are you looking forward to Kayamkulam Kochunni? Comments, please!

I hope this movie will be a success one and what you said priya anand is not correct. You have not understood nivin as a simple man. He is very pavam and he is struggling to make new films since he is the only actor who have become fanmous with his own talent. Most of the other actors have got the talent of acting from their fathers. Iam not complaining you, I was advising you since you said nivin is a brat. I love your acting, priya. I loved esra only because of you and prithviraj and I love adam joan also.
