Me Too: Rakul Preet, Taapsee Pannu slam a journalist for congratulating actor Dileep over being a new father

Me Too Movement is gaining momentum in India with more and more women coming out and sharing their horrifying stories. Well, each one is talking about the serious issue and people are making sure that strict action is taken against the sexual predators. Recently, South actresses Taapsee Pannu, Lakshmi Manchu, Rakul Preet Singh and Shriya Saran took to social media to slam a journalist over the ongoing me too movement that has taken the country by storm.

The journalist took to social media to congratulate the new parents Dileep and his wife Kavya Madhavan. The star couple was blessed with a baby girl yesterday and many took to social media to congratulate them. However, the journalist took to social media to congratulate them and went on to call both Dileep and Kavya as a “lovely couple”. This did not go well with actresses Taapsee Pannu, Lakshmi Manchu, Rakul Preet Singh and Shriya Saran as Dileep has been accused in Malayalam actress’s kidnap and sexual assault case, last year.

Taapsee took to social media and wrote, “I don’t think this #Metoo can reach any productive conclusion until we stop celebrating the accused and guilty to begin with. And embarrassment becomes even more when women themselves don’t stand by this movement and rather go against it. It could’ve been you! #NotDone

Lakshmi Manchu tweeted, “Can’t believe u tagged that jerk #Dileep to be lovely who’s still on criminal records for getting an actress kidnapped & almost raped! Women in malayalam aren’t able to work cos they stood up against him..And here’s u & the media, least expected in favor of him! What a shame?!”

On the other hand, Shriya Saran agreed to what Taapsee and Lakshmi Manchu had to say on the same.

Meanwhile, Dileep has been removed from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). “I called him (Dileep) and told him about the decision and asked for his resignation. He sent us the signed resignation letter,” President and actor Mohanlal confirmed it. This decision came after Women’s Collective in Cinema (WCC) criticised AMMA for supporting and letting him be the member of AMMA.
