Mohanlal is gearing up for the release his upcoming flick 1971: Beyond Borders which is scheduled to be released on April 7, 2017. The film also features Telugu actor Allu Sirish, brother of Allu Arjun. Mohanlal is also gearing up to start working on a high budget movie titled Randoomzham which is an adaptation of a book penned by eminent writer MT Vasudevan Nair with the same title.
A few days ago, there were reports that the budget of the movie will around INR 600 crores and will feature big stars from other languages too. Reports also said that Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan will be a part of this monumental project. Rumors went to an extent of confirming his role in the film and said he would portray the role of Bhishma. Speaking to a leading daily the director of the film Sreekumar had said, “We aren’t taking any cinematic liberties with the character for the movie, he will be playing the role as it is in the book.”
However, a spokesperson of Amitabh Bachchan issued a statement and denied all this news. The statement read, “We would like to deny this news and state that Mr Bachchan is in no capacity associated with or a part of the above-mentioned film directed by Mr Sreekumar. Any news or story reporting otherwise is false and incorrect.” Post the release of this statement, there hasn’t been any response from either Mohanlal or Sreekumar.
Randamoozham is being shot in multiple languages and will be released at the same time.
