Ritu Varma roped in opposite Dulquer Salmaan for a Tamil film to be directed by a debutante

Pellichoopulu fame actress Ritu Varma seems to be making all the right moves in terms of choosing scripts for her films. Even though she was flooded with many offers post the success of Pellichoopulu, the actress was very careful in choosing her next films. Ritu will be seen acting alongside Vikram in Gautham Menon directorial Dhruva Natchathiram while she already played a brief role in Dhanush’s VIP 2 directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth. And buzz in the industry is that the actress may have bagged another big-ticket film.

According to latest reports, Ritu Varma has been signed on opposite Malayalam top star Dulquer Salmaan and the film will be her second Tamil film as a lead actor. The film will be directed by a debutante Desingh Periyasamy who is a popular name in short film circles. “After considering many actresses, the director finally zeroed in on Ritu Varma for the role,” a report in DC quoted a source. And if this film goes on floor, Ritu Varma will enter the big league of actors in the South Indian film industry.

Ritu’s last movie in Telugu, Keshava, alongside Nikhil received a decent response and the actress was appreciated for her performance in the film. Ritu has already started shooting for Dhruva Natchathiram alongside Vikram which is being directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. “I was really nervous but right from the first day he made feel comfortable. He just gives a scene and says do it according to you and gives a lot of freedom which gave me the confidence,” Ritu said about director Gautham Menon recently.
