Malayalam actress Sanusha Santhosh was allegedly harassed in a moving train in Kerala. Based on the case filed by her, Anto Bose aged 40 was arrested.
The actress was travelling from her native place in Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram. She was in a two tier air conditioned coach of the Maveli express where she became a victim of the ill behaviour.
While she was sleeping she felt someone touching her lips and when she opened her eyes, Anto was standing near her. The incident happened at midnight. She tried reaching out a person in the berth below her, but he didn’t care to respond. Sanusha was determined, she caught hold of him and waited till writer Unni and another person came after they heard her shouting. The culprit was arrested by the Thrissur Railway Police. He has been charged with section 354 of IPC and is remanded by the court. The 23 year old actress revealed how she was molested to the media.
The Kerala State Police chief Loknath Behra honored the actress for raising her voice against the man and for showing presence of mind with which she made sure that the molester is taught a lesson. Her bold act has definitely inspired other women to act in case of such incident.
She told a leading news channel, “I opened my eyes as I felt something against my lips. I was shocked to see a man’s hand. I held on to his hand and twisted his fingers. I tried reaching out to a person in the berth below me for help but he didn’t bother. I was shouting but no one cared to respond. This happened around 1.10 am. Just two people, scriptwriter Unni and another passenger, Renjith, came forward to help. Once the TTE came and got the information, he called the next railway station and the railway police were informed. When we reached Thrissur half an hour later, the railway police arrested him. I gave my statement and continued my journey to Thiruvananthapuram in the same train”
