As we all know, Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan recently shared the poster of his latest film with the director Srinath Rajendran and sent fans into a state of frenzy. Needless to say, the poster created quite a buzz in the industry and movie buffs began speculating whether the film would be based on the life of the notorious absconder Sukumara Kurup.
During a recent interaction with a leading daily, filmmaker Srinath confirmed that the film is indeed based on his life
“Yes, Dulquer is playing Sukumara Kurup. The film will delve deep into the life of one of the notorious convicts who shocked the entire State in the 80s. However, people should come to the theatre without any prejudices,” he added.
Moreover, he added that the film will explore unique and previously unknown aspects of Sukumara’s life.
“There have been many films which had references about his life. However, this movie will have an epic nature.I wanted to tell the story from a different perspective of his life, which Malayalis do not know about,” he said.
In case did you did not know, this yet to be titled film marks the second collaboration between Dulquer and Srinath. The two had previously joined hands for ‘Second Show’ which was the first film of DQ’s career.
On a related note, this is a busy time for Dulquer. At present, he has Solo in his kitty. The film is touted to be a romantic-thriller and also features Neha Sharma in the lead. Besides this, DQ also has a Tamil film in his kitty.
