The Kerala State Youth Commission recently felicitated Malayalam superstar Prithviraj with the Youth Icon of the year award at an event held at a noted government college. Shortly after receiving the award, the actor spoke about his decision to stop doing films that promote misogyny and said that it was his way of striving for a better society.
“I know that my sole decision on not to act on films that portray misogyny onscreen is not going to change anything in our industry but I see the decision as the primary step on what I can contribute towards my society,” he added.
The ‘Memories’ star went on to add that it is the duty of each working professional to bring about a positive change in society.
“We support our family and their well-being through our respective jobs. I believe that the power of a true citizen also depends on how we make use of our professional status to create at least a small ripple in the society’s betterment,” said Prithviraj.
In addition to this, he emphasized on the need to ensure that the youth does not compromise on its identity under any circumstances.
“The prevailing issues in our societies are sure to end if our young generation takes a strong decision that they will not sacrifice their identity under the influence of any political, social or religious forces,” he added.
Well, these are some strong words and are bound to make fans love Prithviraj even more.
On the professional side of things, Prithviraj has films such as ‘Adam Joan’ and ‘My Story’ in his kitty. All in all, this is quite a busy time for him.
