Asiavision Awards is one of the top awards in Malayalam entertainment industry and bas been conferring artists from Malayalam film industry for many years now. This year, the award ceremony was held in Dubai and the event was attended by Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and Malayalam actress Mamta Mohandas. Abhishek Bachchan was honoured with the ‘Man of the Year’ award for 2017-2018 and for his contribution to Indian cinema. The actor looked dapper in a black suit and was accompanied by Malayalam actress Mamta Mohandas. Mamta looked in a relaxed mood and was seen sporting a designer salwar, and looked stunning in it. On the work front, both the actors have couple of films lined up this year. While Abhishek Bachchan will join the cast of Housefull 4, Mamta Mohandas just had a release ‘Carbon’ which also stars Fahadh Faasil. Carbon is directed by Venu and has music by Bollywood filmmaker and music composer Vishal Bharadwaj.
The film has been receiving positive reviews from all around and is termed as an adventurous flick. This is one of the few movies in South Indian cinema which was shot in a very short period. The filming of Carbon began in August 2017 and it hit the theatres in January 2018.

Both husband and wife getting awards when they don’t really deserve them. Ok, he got an award for his contribution to Sports. But this is not a sporting event but Malayalam film industry award function. Isn’t it a bit misplaced?
