Mammootty on the first look poster of Uncle

Mammootty’s upcoming film Uncle’s poster was released recently. He looks dashing in the new avatar with a black overcoat, flat cap and shades. The first look poster has Mammootty posing with a swag. He will be reportedly playing the character named Krishnakumar in Uncle.

The movie is directed by Girish Damodar and the story will revolve around a teenager and her father’s friend, like the caption says ‘My dad’s friend’. Uncle is touted to be social drama focusing on the anxiety of a middle class family. The plot is set around the journey the two take from Ooty to Kozhikode. Further details of the film are yet to be revealed by the makers. According to rumors, Mammootty’s character will have a grey shade in the movie. Uncle also stars CIA fame Karthika Muralidharan. Asha Sharath will be playing the role of Mammootty’s wife.

The movie has been scripted by Joy Mathews who is also an actor and has done scripting for the 2013 movie Shutter. Talking about the movie he said, “It was originally a small subject but it developed over time. With Mammootty on board, it will be a full-fledged project. I can’t reveal the subject but it’s a socially relevant and very strong one. Think of a 17 year old girl and her dad’s friend, uncle. That’s all I can say now.” The movie has been shot mostly in Ooty and Kozhikode.

The trailer of Mammootty’s upcoming film Parole has received stupendous response on social media. Fans have been going gaga about the film. He is presently busy with a series of movies, including a thriller by Deen Dennis, sequel of the hit movie Big B, Santhosh Shivan’s Kunjali Marakkar, and the Telugu biopic on late Andhra Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy

Uncle is scheduled to release on December 10, 2018.
