South Indian actress made her debut as a lead actress in 2002 alongside Suriya Sivakumar in ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’. The film had released on today’s date back in 2002 and marks the actress’ completion of 15 years in cinema. And in these 15 years, Trisha Krishnan has acted most of the top stars in South Indian cinema and has achieved most possible things. Born on May 4th, 1983, Trisha started her career in the entertainment industry after having won the pageant ‘Miss Salem’ in 1999. Trisha later worked in numerous print and television commercials before trying her hands at acting. Trisha played a supporting role in Jodi in 1999 before getting her big break with 2002 ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’.
Trisha had acted alongside many top stars of South Indian cinema which includes Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Vikram, Suriya, Ajith, Madhavan, Mahesh Babu, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan among many others. Trisha has also acted in a Bollywood film ‘Khatta Meetha’ alongside Akshay Kumar. The gorgeous lady also has the credit of appearing in a single by Falguni Pathak ‘Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye’ which was one of the top hits of late 2000s. Trisha is known for her impacting performances and has won hearts of many movie buffs with these performances. Trisha was recently given the UNICEF celebrity advocate status by the world governing body to promote child rights. The actress, speaking at the event, had said, “I feel honoured with this recognition. I commit myself to create more awareness on health, education, nutrition and protection of children, especially the adolescents and young people in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. I would support the efforts of the government to make Tamil Nadu malnutrition-free and open defecation free.”
Trisha is currently working on a slew of films which include Garjanai, Sathuranga Vettai 2 and 96 among others. Trisha will also be making her debut in Malayalam cinema with the Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Hey Jude’ shooting of which is currently in progress. Speaking about Trisha, Malayalam sensation Nivin Pauly had said, “It’s been a great experience. She’s friendly, down-to-earth and comfortable to work with. In terms of acting experience, Trisha’s the senior. She made her debut in 2002 and I came into films almost a decade later. I have watched a lot of her films and have been a big fan since Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa.”
Trisha was also part of ‘Saamy 2’, a sequel to 2004 release Saamy, but had to opt out of the project due to issues with the makers. The actress tweeted about her opting out of the project and did not let any rumour mills churn out their own version.
