Well, now the sequel is all set to release and Aishwarya is not a part of the film. Amy Jackson is playing the female lead while Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is essaying a negative role. Are you disappointed over Aish not being a part of the film?
Well, Rumour has it that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will have a cameo in the film. However, no confirmation regarding the same has been made yet by the makers of the film. This is a wait and watch the situation, and we just can’t hold our excitement. 2.0 is being made on a huge budget of Rs 600 crores, huge than Baahubali series. The sequel to witness larger than life VFX and is expected to earn huge at the Box Office.
Meanwhile, Shankar on CNN News18 revealed the real reason why the makers had to delay the film’s release. He said, “The film was delayed because of a lot of factors which is not in our hands. This film was supposed to release one-and-a-half year back. That was my initial plan. Unfortunately, one major VFX company, promised to deliver two months before 2017 Diwali so that’s why production announced the release date as Diwali but they were not able to deliver. They wanted more time.
He further said, “the VFX company asked for another year to complete the whole thing. Then we realised that they didn’t have the capacity or to handle the complexity of VFX so we decided to go for a bigger company. Then we got Double Negative company. They are doing Marvel films. Last year they won the Academy Award for Blade Runner 2049. While shifting also we had some practical problems. It was like uprooting a tree from one place and planting it. To shift each and every element has taken a bit longer.”
2.0 is releasing this November and has been written and directed by Shankar with music by AR Rahman. The Hindi version of the film is being presented by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions.
