Well, therse are some sweet words and are bound to create quite a buzz amongst fans. In case you did not know, Akki will be seen essaying a negative role in the Tamil superstar’s magnum opus ‘2.0’. And, needless to say, this has created a buzz amongst fans. The film is touted to be a sci-fi thriller and is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster ‘Enthiran’. In it, Rajini will be seen reprising his Chitti character from the first part while Akki will be seen essaying a character named Dr Richard. The posters of ‘2.0’ have created quite a buzz amongst fans and this magnum opus could turn out to be a big hit at the box office. A Shankar directorial, it also has Amy Jackson in the lead.
The audio launch of ‘2.0’ was held in Dubai this October and proved to be a star-studded spectacle. At the event, Akshay had said working in ‘2.0’ was a learning experience for him.
“I have done 130 films (in Bollywood). ‘2.0′ was my 131st film. I can only say that during the making of those 130 films, I got to learn little from every film, but I was learning throughout the shooting of this film. There’s a lot that we have to learn from South because the way they work, we have to understand a lot now. They work in unity and respect each other’s talent, we have to learn that,” he had added.
Rajinikanth too had spoken at the event and said that fans must not use the social media for spreading negativity about films.
“Support good films and encourage good talent. If you don’t like a film, please avoid spreading negativity through social media,” he had added.
On a related note, this is a busy time for Rajinikanth as well as Akshay. Besides ‘2.0’, Rajini also has Kaala in his kitty. A Pa Ranjith directorial, it is a crime-drama and will see ‘Thalaiva’ essay the role of a gangster. Produced by actor Dhanush, it also features Huma Qureshi in the lead. Sometime ago, she had said that Rajini is a humble and warm individual.
“It’s an amazing experience to work with Rajinikanth. When he walks, everybody becomes silent and make space for him. For me, the most beautiful thing with him is the simplicity he carries. He is such a humble person. I have never seen a superstar who is so humble, who is so simple and down-to-earth,” Huma had said.
Interestingly, he has also been in the news of late because of his impending entry into politics. He had sometime ago, put these rumours to rest and said that there is no pressing need for him to enter politics immediately.
“There is no urgency for me to jump into the political scene immediately,” he had told reporters.
As far as Akshay is concerned, he will soon be seen in ‘Padman’. A Balki directorial, it is loosely based on Twinkle Khanna’s book ‘The legend of Laksmi Prasad’ and touches upon the need to encourage menstrual hygiene. Besides Akshay Kumar, it also features Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in the lead. Recently, Sonam had said that she respects Akki for doing content-driven films “and added that she is proud to be associated with ‘Padman’.
