Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara share crackling chemistry in the latest poster of ‘Velaikkaran’

The elegant Nayanthara is undoubtedly one of the most popular names in Southern cinema today. And, needless to say, she is going through a terrific phase in life right now. Last month, her ‘Aramm’ opened to a good response at the box office and received rave reviews along the way. Directed by Gopi Nainar, it saw our ‘Lady Superstar’ essay the role of a collector and leave fans spellbound. Revolving around the water scarcity problem, it got the thumbs up from fans as well as people from the industry. Talking about it, Amala Paul had said that it was a classic example of good cinema.

“Hence proved, good cinema matters, kudos to #Nayanthara and director #GopiNainar , in an industry which is plagued with masala movies scripted for star heroes, #Aramm has proved the formula to be wrong. Good cinema matters, good story matters, good performances matter!” she had tweeted.

At present, Nayan is gearing up for the release of her next big release ‘Velaikkaran’. An action-thriller, it deals with food adulteration and has already created a buzz amongst fans courtesy its gripping trailer. Now, it seems that the buzz surrounding ‘Velaikkaran’ is set to reach new heights. In an exciting development, a new poster of the film has been released and it is quite good. In it, Nayan can be seen spending some quality time with Sivakarthikeyan. The two young stars make a lovely pair and make the wait for ‘Velaikkaran’ even more difficult. Their chemistry is quite good and indicates that the two could work wonders on the big screens. That’s how you make an impact!

Interestingly, SK has tremendous respect for ‘Thalaivi’ and had recently said that her search for perfection makes her a successful star.

“The one thing that hasn’t changed at all in all these three film shooting spots, is her punctuality and perfection. That is why, I feel, that she has established a market for herself,” he had added.

In case you did not know, ‘Velaikkaran’ has been directed by Mohan Raja. Besides Nayan-SK, it also features Fahadh Faasil in the lead. The Mollywood star will be seen playing a negative role in what is the first Tamil film of his career. Sometime ago, the director had said that Fahadh is kind of star who can motivate his directors to do a better job.

“After Thani Oruvan, I wanted to evolve as a better director and for that, I believed I had to come up with an even superior antagonist. So, instead of creating the character and casting the actor, I wanted to rope in an actor who would inspire me to create such an antagonist. With Fahadh on board, I knew I had the best and my challenge was to give him a role that would feed off of his thirst as a performer. It motivated me to create something great and after watching the output, I believe I am on the right track,” he had told a leading daily

Well, we wish team ‘Velaikkaran’ good luck and hope that film hits the jackpot when it hits screens on December 22.

On a related note, this is a busy time for SK as well as Nayan. Besides ‘Velaikkaran’, Sivakarthikeyan also has a film with actress Samantha Akkineni in his kitty. It is being directed by Ponram and has already created a buzz amongst fans.

As far as Nayan is concerned, she has ‘Jai Simha’ and ‘Imaikkaa Nodigal’ in her kitty. ‘Jai Simha’ is an action-drama and will see her share screen space with Balakrishna. The two have previously collaborated for ‘Simhaa’ and ‘Sree Rama Rajyam’. As such, fans are bound to have high expectations from this one.

As far as ‘Imaikkaa Nodigal’ is concerned, it is a thriller and has been directed by R Ajay Gnanamuthu. In it, she will be seen alongside Atharvaa and Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Telugu star Raashi Khanna too will be seen playing a pivotal role in this one.
