The dashing Vikram is beyond any doubt one of the most popular and revered stars in the Tamil film industry today. He enjoys a strong fan following thanks to his macho looks, gripping performances, charming personality and of course tremendous range as an artiste. Moreover, he has won hearts thanks to his simple and down-to-earth nature.
Now, there is some awesome news for his fans. In an exciting development, a still from his upcoming film ‘Sketch’ is creating quite a buzz on the social media and that too for all the right reasons. In it, he can be seen alongside the lovely Tamannaah. And, not surprisingly, the two make an awesome pair indeed! Tamannaah’s innocence gels quite well with Vikram’s raw getup and adds new life to the still. Their chemistry could turn out to be one of the biggest highlights of ‘Sketch’.
Interestingly, Tamannaah has tremendous respect for the ‘I’ star in real life. Sometime ago, she had said that he is a highly disciplined person.
“Vikram is an actor who has been around for long. His knowledge and talent can be well understood through his body of work. Yet every time he works on a new project he is still meticulous about it and is a thorough professional. Be whatever the weather condition, he always reported [on the sets] on time for the shoot. He is very hardworking, disciplined and his energy was addictive. Now I know what makes him one of the best in his field,” she had told a leading daily.
The lovely lady is likely to have a meaty role in ‘Sketch’ and get ample scope to showcase her abilities as a performer. Sometime ago, director Vijay Chander had said that most women will find her character to be quite relatable.
“Tamannaah plays Ammu, a girl-next-door, and she shares a beautiful relationship with Vikram. Romance is very intrinsic to the script and their chemistry is very relatable. Their characters kind of complement each other. I can say that women who see the film would want to be like Ammu,” the director had told a leading daily.
On a related note, this is a busy time for Vikram and Tamannaah. Besides ‘Sketch’, he also has ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ in his kitty. The film is touted to be a spy-thriller and has been directed by Gautham Menon. In it, he will be seen alongside Aishwarya Rajesh and Ritu Varma. Sometime ago, Aishwarya had said that she really enjoyed working with Vikram and learnt a lot from him.
“Vikram sir is very encouraging… you feel an energy boost when you see him. Being a top hero, he could have easily opted for bigger heroines, but he insisted that someone like me be a part of the film. He keeps giving valuable suggestions and retains that childlike enthusiasm,” she had told a leading daily.
Similarly, Ritu too had praised Vikram and said that working with him was a nice experience for her.
“I had the most amazing time working with both, Vikram sir and Gautham sir. It is every heroine’s dream to work with Gautham Menon. I am so glad that my dream has finally come true. Also, I have a huge respect for Vikram sir, for the actor he is. Working with him was a great learning experience,” she had added.
As far as Tamannaah is concerned, she also has ‘Queen Once Again’ in her kitty. It is a remake of the Bollywood hit ‘Queen’ and will see her essay the role played by Kangana Ranaut in the Hindi version. Sometime ago, she had said that she the remake will do justice to the original version.
“It’s an exciting project and I love doing roles that talk about women empowerment. I’m confident we can recreate the magic of the original. At the same time, not make our film look like a frame-to-frame remake. We’ll adapt it to suit Telugu sensibilities. I wasn’t even sure if it was going to be remade. What makes ‘Queen’ special is that it’s one of those rare women-centric films which succeeded in reaching out to everybody, across all sections of the audience,” Tamannaah had said.
