Lyca creative consultant resigns from his post to join Rajinikanth’s political movement

In a rather unexpected development, Lyca’s creative consultant Raju Mahalingam has resigned and decided to join Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s newly-launched political movement commenting on his decision, he said that he was impressed by Rajini’s vision and hence decided to join his political campaign.

“I have worked with Rajinikanth for the last three years and I was attracted to his personality and vision.. So I decided to quit Lyca and join his political journey,” he said.

Well, this is a big move on Raju Mahalingam’s part and we hope that his gamble pays off.  In case you did not know, on December 31, ‘Thaiaiva’ had confirmed that he would be forming his own party and changing the very complexion of Tamil Nadu politics. The revered superstar had also said that he plans to contest the next TN state assembly elections and field candidates on all seats.

“I will be beginning my own party and will be contesting in the upcoming State Elections. We will independently stand in all 234 Constituencies in Tamil Nadu. Before the state election, we will discuss what we can do, and what we cannot do. If we don’t do what we promise, We will resign within 3 years. We will be running spiritual politics. In the past one year, Tamil Nadu politics has come down to a miserable state. People from the other states are frowning upon us. Even after all this, If I am going to stay quiet, my conscience will prick me to the day I die. This is the state and you are the people who are the reason I am living today,” he had added.

As expected, his announcement had created a buzz in the political circles as well as the film fraternity. While some welcomed the move, others were not too thrilled by it.

On the work front, Rajini currently has ‘2.0’ and ‘Kaala’ in his kitty. ‘Kaala is touted to be a crime-drama and has been directed Pa Ranjith. As far as ‘2.0’ is concerned, it is a sci-fi thriller and has been directed by maverick filmmaker S Shankar.
