Noted actor/producer Vishal just took to Twitter and lashed out at BJP leader H Raja for his remark about Periyar’s statue. In his strongly-worded tweet, the actor said that the remark was uncalled for and completely unacceptable. He went on to add that the leader alienated himself from the masses every time he spoke on any issue.
“Condemning #HRaja is an understatement for his uncalled statement on demolition of #ThanthaiPeriyar statue. U seem to be alienating yourself every other time u comment on any topic.not right and not done. Hope u understand atleast this time. God bless,” he added.
In case you did not know, yesterday, in a Facebook post, H Raja had spoken about destroying the Periyar statue and ruffled a few feathers. Within no time, stars and political leaders began condemning his comment and the BJP distanced itself from the remark. Following the backlash, H Raja issued a clarification and said that he never meant to hurt anyone though his remark. However his ‘apology’ did not find many takers.
Commenting on his clarification, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan had said that it was not sufficient.
“At first place, he didn’t apologize for his post. He just said he regrets for the post. Even if he had apologized, the apology can’t be accepted, since his words were as sharp as a bow. An honestly functioning party will definitely take action against an act like this, and I hope BJP does, against Raja. That is the right thing to do,” he had added.
On a related note, this is a busy time for Vishal. He is currently gearing up for the release of Irumbu Thirai. The film is an action-thriller and has been directed by PS Mithran. In it, he will be seen alongside actor Samantha Akkineni and ‘Action King’ Arjun.
