Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has geared up for the release of his much-awaited film, Vishwaroopam 2. The film is quite in hype for various reasons. One of the reasons is that the actor has taken a plunge into politics for the people of Tamil Nadu and will be bringing the curtain down after a couple of films. Recently, in an interview, Kamal Haasan opened about how his brother sensed his wish to enter into politics after watching Thevar Magan. Yes, and this was some 20-25 years ago.
“My brother sensed that I would enter politics some 20-25 years back after watching Thevar Magan. With Marudhanayagam, he asked if it was my last film and why I was putting my all into the project. He didn’t want me to get into politics and said that I was meant for ‘more’,” Kamal told in an interview with Film Companion.
He further added that his mind was set by the time Virumaandi happened. “There was no reason for the film to get into trouble. They like my brother had sensed my political inclinations. I got discrete messages to join the party. I was offered Rs 100 crore of money. But it enraged me and I kept moving,” said the actor during the same interview.
On the work front, Haasan currently has Vishwaroopam 2 and Indian 2 in his kitty. Vishwaroopam 2 is a sequel to the 2013 release Vishwaroopam and also has Andrea Jeremiah and Pooja Kumar in the lead. The film is all set to release tomorrow on August 10. As far as Indian 2 is concerned, it is a sequel to 1996 vigilante-thriller Indian and is being directed by top director S Shankar.
Recently, in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Kamal Haasan spoke about his next Indian 2. He said, “I can’t share much about it as he (Shankar) is currently working on it. We will soon announce about it proudly.”
