Abhay Deol to venture into Tamil films

Popular Bollywood actor Abhay Deol is all set to venture into Tamil film and add a new dimension to his career. If all goes as planned, he will collaborate with filmmaker Rathindran Prasad’s production company Whole Wide World Films, and B Ganesh’s company, Common Man Presents to produce a Tamil film. Moreover, he will also be paying a crucial role in the film.

Titled ‘Ithu Vedhaalam Sollun Kathai’, it will be shot on the lines of a spaghetti western. Moreover, shooting will take place in  in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. To be directed by Prasad, this one is likely to feature a nice mix of action and adventure.

Interestingly, ‘Ithu Vedhaalam Sollun Kathai’ focuses on  the exploits of a video game developer who creates a game based on the stories of Vikram and Betaal. A small portion of the film will be set in a bygone era. Abhay will be essaying the role of King Vikramaditya in the portion. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?

On a related note, in 2014. Abhay ventured into film production for the first time in his career and co-produced a Bollywood flick titled ‘One By Two’. Directed by Devika Bhagat and touted to be romantic-comedy, it did not find much success at the box office.

As it so happens, the 41-year-old star has not had a single release in 2017 so far. He was last seen in the 2016 release ‘Happy Bhag Jayengi’ which opened to a decent response at the box office. Besides Abhay, it also featured Diana Penty in the lead role.
