Me Too: Actor Siddharth receives THREAT calls from Susi Ganesan for supporting Leena Manimekalai

Ever since Me Too Movement started gaining momentum in India, actor Siddharth has voiced his opinion and supported women on social media. The Rang De Basanti actor has been speaking out over the issue on social since the last couple of weeks. Many prominent names such as Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, Nana Patekar have been accused of sexual misconduct. Also, Tamil filmmaker Leena Manimekalai recently accused director Susi Ganesan of sexual harassment.

Leena recently took to Facebook and shared her #metoo story. Leena wrote, “I am gathering courage to write more of my experiences. Let me start with this. The film director who locked me up in the car when I started as a television anchor is Susi Ganesan. Hope more voices join me to be heard. #metoo.” After her revelation, recently, actor Siddharth took to Twitter to speak in support of Leena. He wrote, “I stand with you Leena. Your voice will be heard. Your courage will inspire. #MeToo #ListenToTheAccuser #TimesUp.”

However, his support has put him in trouble. Siddharth took to social media revealed that he has been threatened for supporting Leena. He tweeted, “#SusiGanesan spoke to my aged father on the phone and threatened us with dire consequences if I continue to stand by Leena. So I just want everyone to know that now more than ever… I Stand With #LeenaManimekalai. Stay strong and fight the good fight sister! #MeToo #TimesUp.”

The MeToo movement has taken the country by storm ever since actress Tanushree Dutta revisited 10-year-old incident that happened with her on the sets of Horn Ok Please. The actress accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of inappropriate behaviour.

Dude lot of support to you too !! Since you are a secure man you have nothing to fear.. MeToo is not just about women.. it’s about creating a safe environment for everyone.. Men should also be a part of it rather than thinking it is a woman’s problem..
