There were reports doing rounds that Prabhu Dheva directorial Tamil film Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja was shelved after the director halted the shooting of the film. Reports were also indicating that the director may not revive the shooting of the film anytime soon and the film may be shelved completely. As per latest reports, the shooting of the film has been halted because of the lead actors opting out of the film.
According latest reports, actors Karthi and Vishal have opted out of the film because of date issues and hence the shooting of the film has been halted. “The team even shot for four days. Unfortunately, the shoot had to be stalled because both Karthi and Vishal walked out citing date issues. The makers haven’t shelved the project but plan to commence work with new male leads. This process might take a while,” a source close to the unit of the film told a news agency.
Reports are also doing rounds that Prabhu Dheva might opt to direct a film in Bollywood that he has out on hold for a long time now. “He has some commitment in Bollywood. He might finish that project and come back and finish this film,” the source added.
Before taking up the project, director Prabhu Dheva had said that he would dedicate the film to writer-director Subhash. “When I met him last year, he told me he wasn’t sure if he would be around to see the film. I told him everything is going to be alright. Unfortunately, he left us even before we could start the project. I would like to dedicate this film to him,” Prabhudheva had said.
With the shooting of the film halting midway, there is no official confirmation yet whether it will resume back or not.
