During a recent interaction with a leading daily, actress Aishwarya Rajesh weighed in on whether it is right to burst crackers during the festival of Diwali and said that the tradition is perfectly fine. She went on to add that asking for a ban on crackers does not make any sense as the tradition has been followed for generations.
“If you want a cracker ban owing to reasons such as pollution, it is not fair. There aren’t people to clean the garbage mess in the city. That causes pollution, too, eventually leading to harmful disease. Asking us to stop bursting crackers, is like asking us to stop jallikattu. Instead of completely doing away with it, people can control the number of crackers they are bursting,” added Aishwarya.
Besides this, she also added that this Diwali is extremely special for her as her entire family will be coming together for celebrations after a long time.
“This year’s festivity will be special as my brother got married and it would be a thala Deepavali in the family. After so many years, our entire family will be coming together to celebrate it,” she added.
Well, we are quite happy for Aishwarya and hope that she has a terrific and safe Diwali.
On a related note, she was last seen in ‘Daddy’ which marked her Bollywood debut. At present, she has Vetrimaaran’s highly ambitious ‘Vada Chennai’ and Mani Ratnam’s next in her kitty. So, are you in favour of bursting crackers? Tell us in the space below.
