Actress Mandira Bedi, who is perhaps best known for her performance in the TV show ‘Shanti’, is currently gearing up for the release of her latest Tamil film ‘Adangathey’. And, needless to say, she is excited about it. During an interaction with a leading daily, the star said that there is plenty of focus on her character in the trailer even though she does not play a lead role in the film.
“I was pleasantly surprised to see the trailer. I’m not playing the lead, but the trailer had loads of my shots. I know my role but I never thought there will be so much of me. After all, the first look decides how you want to sell the film.” she added.
Interestingly, this is not the first Tamil film of her career. In 2004, she essayed the role of a doctor in ‘Manmadhan’ which was touted to be a crime-thriller and featured Simbu in the lead. As it so happens, she apparently received several Kollywood offers post ‘Manmadham’. However, she turned them down.
“That was more than 10 years ago. I had done the film, since Simbhu, the actor of the film, came over to my house and said ‘I want you in my film anyhow’. But, after that, I turned item numbers down because it’s not my thing. I did one and ticked it off my bucket list,”Bedi said.
Well, it goes without saying that we are happy for Mandira and hope that her return to Tamil films proves to be a memorable one.
