2003 Vikram starrer Saamy is getting a sequel now which has been titled Saamy Square and is being directed by Hari himself. Starring Vikram as the foul-mouthed ruthless cop, Saamy Square will star Keerthy Suresh playing one of the female lead roles. Few months ago, the shooting of the film began and major portions of the film have been completed. Trisha Krishnan, who played the female lead role in the first part, too was part of the cast initially. But the actress opted out later citing creative differences as the reason. However, since then there hasn’t been much heard about which actress would replace Trisha in the film. And now, the makers have found another actor who would replace Trisha in the film.
Aishwarya Rajesh has been roped in to replace Trisha Krishnan in Saamy Square and the actress has already started shooting for her portions in the film. The announcement was made today officially by the makers via social media after a long wait. “Happy to announce that the most performing, promising, and the bussiest actress @aishu_dil joining #SaamySquare and shoot on progress,” read the Twitter handle of the producers Thameens films.

Saamy Square will star Bobby Simha as the antagonist while actors like John Vijay, Prabhu and Soori will be seen in supporting roles. The sequel is being made after 14 years of the release of the original Saamy which was a super hit film in the career of Vikram and is one of the milestones in Vikram’s career.
Vikram will return as the foul-mouthed, twirled moustache sporting police officer in Saamy Square, a role which made him one of biggest stars in the South Indian industry. Saamy was also remade in Telugu as Lakshmi Narsimha with Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role and was a decent hit.
