Actor Ajith, fondly called as Thala, underwent a surgery on his shoulder recently in Chennai and is advised to rest for 45 days to recuperate from the surgery. The actor, who is riding high on the success of his latest release Vivegam, will now be out of action for close to three months. Ajith injured his shoulder during the making of Vivegam in Bulgaria and had to undergo this surgery which went on for more than 2 hours at a private hospital in Chennai.
Ajith performed most of the stunts in Vivegam by himself and during one of the action episodes sustained an injury on his shoulder. Reports indicate that Ajith has been recovering well from the surgery. This is one of the many injuries that Ajith has sustained in his eventful career and yet he has bounced back and gotten fit in time for his next film.
Coincidentally, when director Siva went to Ajith to narrate the story of Vivegam, Ajith had injured his knee and had undergone a surgery. Ajith heard the script of Vivegam when he was on crutches post the surgery and director Siva was worried how Ajith would recover in time for the shooting of Vivegam. However, Ajith, as always, not just got fitter in time but also worked out to get his body a muscular shape for Vivegam.
Vivegam received mix reviews from viewers for the screenplay and story but Ajith was hugely praised for his performance in the film as a spy. Vivegam collections stand at a little above INR 160 crores as on Sunday.
