Akshay Kumar in 2.0

According to a leading daily, Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumae—who is making his Tamil debut with ‘2.0’—recently modulated his voice for the film while Resul Pookutty enhanced it to make it sound more menacing. The director S Shankar apparently decided to request ‘Akki’ to module his voice as it was not menacing enough for his character. Confirming this, a source said that ‘Khiladi’ went the extra mile to ensure that he modulated his voice according to the director’s wish.

“Aided by Resul Pookutty, Akshay carefully modulated his voice. Resul worked on technically modifying Akshay’s voice using the state-of-the-art technologies for the film. Previously, Amitabh Bachchan had attempted to work on his voice, in the days of low technical expertise for Agneepath, over two and a half decades ago,” added the source.

Well, it is indeed nice to see Akshay putting in extra effort for his maiden Tamil film. We sincerely hope that his bad guy act gives us the chills.  In case you did not know, ‘2.0’  is touted to be a sci-fi thriller and is a sequel to the 2010 release ‘Enthiran’. In it, Akki will be seen alongside the iconic Rajinikanth who is reprising his role from the first part. If all goes as planned, the film will hit screens in 2018.

On a related note, the audio launch of ‘2.0’ will be held on October 27 in Dubai. The event will be attended by Akshay, Rajini and of course the chief guest Kamal Haasan.
