Actress Amy Jackson says she has learnt a lot not just about the craft of acting from megastar Rajinikanth, but also drawn from how calm and humble he is as a person despite his stardom.
Amy will be seen sharing screen space with Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer “2.0”, directed by Shankar. “Sir (Rajinikanth) is fantastic and I have learnt many things from him — from not just the craft point of view but from the person he is. He is very calm, humble and dedicated to his work, which is lovely to see after all these years,” Amy told a news agency. This is her second outing with director Shankar. “I am working with Shankar for the second time after ‘I’. I have learnt so much as an actress while working with a director like him,” he added.
Amy was here to launch Skin Advisor Line (S.A.L) created by The Pond’s Institute. It is a mobile skin care application that helps women understand and transform their skin. Apart from “2.0”, she is also working in an American TV show. Seeking to get more work in Bollywood, she is also working on her improving her Hindi diction. “I Skype with my tutor once a week,” she said.
Speaking about her role in 2.0, Amy had said that she would be seen playing a role which no one would have expected. “No! (I am) Definitely not (playing a robot) ! I cannot say anything more about the role. It is quite a challenging one, and if I talk about it, I would give away the entire plot. All I can say is, it’s something I have never done before,” she had said.
2.0, also being referred to as Robo 2, stars Super Star Rajinikanth in the lead role and also features Bollywood top actor Akshay Kumar playing the antagonist marking his debut in Tamil cinema. Directed by Shankar, 2.0 is a sequel to the 2010 release Enthiran which stared Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles. It is being said that 2.0 will be the most expensive film in the career of Rajinikanth and director Shankar, and is being made on a mammoth budget.
Being made on such a grand scale, media and Tamil movie-buffs are praising the director of 2.0 – Shankar – every bit and social media is stormed with messages about the video. With heavy graphics involved throughout the film, the post-production work of 2.0 is currently on in various studios across the globe.
Akshay Kumar, with his scary look as a scientist, is all set to make a grand debut in Tamil cinema with 2.0 and he couldn’t have asked for a better co-actor than Super Star Rajinikanth. With such exciting things associated with the film, 2.0 will be the most waited for film in Tamil circles. The makers had confirmed a while ago that 2.0 will hit the screens in April, 2018.
Akshay Kumar’s voice in the Hindi version has been altered technologically in order to make it more menacing. Speaking about this, a source had said that the whole process was time-consuming and took a lot of effort.
“Aided by Resul Pookutty, Akshay carefully modulated his voice. Resul worked on technically modifying Akshay’s voice using the state-of-the-art technologies for the film. Previously, Amitabh Bachchan had attempted to work on his voice, in the days of low technical expertise for Agneepath, over two and a half decades ago,” a source close to the film’s unit had told a daily.
The makers of the eagerly-awaited ‘2.0’ have confirmed that the magnum opus will hit screens in April 2018. The makers also added that it is the costliest 3 D film ever made. “Lyca Productions- Superstar Rajinikanth – Akshay Kumar – Shankar magnum opus SciFi action thriller 2.0 to be screened worldwide on April 2018. Nation’s costliest 3D film starring Superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, directed by Shankar, music by A R Rahman. The high-tech post production works are fully geared and the team is all set for the release schedule,” read the press release from Lyca Productions.
