Amy Jackson is beyond any doubt one of the most talented and popular ladies in Southern cinema today. In just a few years, the young star has carved a niche for herself thanks to her charming personality, sincere performances, and bindass nature. Moreover, she has worked with some of the most bankable names in the industry—right from Dhanush to Vijay– and proved she truly belongs to the big league.
Now, she is in the news for a rather unexpected reason. According to DNA, Amy recently took a DNA ancestry test to find out more about her roots. Explaining why she took the test, she said that the history of her kin is ‘vague’ and hence she decided to find out more about her roots.
“Whenever I travelled, people always asked me where I was from. When I replied, ‘England’, they would ask, ‘Okay, but what are your roots? You don’t look fully English!’ My family is the most important thing to me, and we’re very close, but the history of my kin is quite vague. So, I took it upon myself to try and make some sense of it. My dad’s family history is almost impossible to figure out,” she added.
On a related note, this is a busy time for Amy. She currently has 2.0 and The Villain in her kitty. 2.0 is a sci-fi thriller and has been directed by maverick filmmaker S Shankar. In it, she will be seen alongside superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. A few months ago, she had said that working with ‘Thalaiva’ was a terrific learning experience for her.
“Sir (Rajinikanth) is fantastic and I have learnt many things from him — from not just the craft point of view but from the person he is. He is very calm, humble and dedicated to his work, which is lovely to see after all these year,” she had added.
As far as The Villain is concerned, it is one of the biggest Kannada movies of recent times and is a Prem directorial. In it, she will be seen alongside superstar Sudeep and the iconic Shivarajkumar
