Arvind Swamy is not part of Bogan’s Telugu remake and here’s why

Earlier this year, the much-loved Arvind Swamy gave strong proof of his abilities as an actor when he delivered a commendable performance in ‘Bogan’ and left the audience mesmerised. Now, the popular film—which also featured Jayam Ravi in the lead—is being remade in Telugu. However, Arvind Swamy is not a part of this remake. Confirming this. Director Lakshman said that he never wanted to cast him in the remake as the role here will be quite different from the original one.

“There have been reports that Arvind Sir turned down the role in the Telugu version. This is not true. I never wanted to cast Arvind Swamy in the Telugu remake. Initially I was thinking of casting SJ Suryah for the role that is along the lines of Joker in Batman. But the producers wanted Arvind Swamy as he did an outstanding job in the original. But the requirements for the character in Telugu are different and Arvind Swamy himself knows this,” added the director.

Well, we hope that makers find a suitable replacement and the remake proves to be just as successful as the original.

In case you did not know, the Telugu remake of ‘Bogan’ will see Ravi Teja essay the role essayed by Jayam Ravi in the original while Catherine Tresa will be reprising the role played by Hansika Motwani in the Tamil version.

Interestingly, this is a busy time for Arvind Swamy. At present, he has ‘Nagarasooran’ and ‘Bhaskar Oru Rascal’ in his kitty. ‘Nagarasooran’ is touted to be an intense drama and features an ensemble cast. On the other hand, ‘Bhaskar Oru Rascal’ is a comedy-drama and also stars Amala Paul in the lead.
