After more than 48 hours of her demise, the mortal remains of actor Sridevi were brought back to India late last night and taken to Anil Kapoor’s residence in Mumbai. A condolence meet was held today which was attended by many celebrities from various industries funeral and later the mortal remains were taken for funeral. While all this was happening, not many know that one man from Kerala, who has settled in Dubai, is behind all the procedural help that had to be followed for the repatriation of Sridevi’s body. The death certificate and forensic reports carried one name – Sherry – which is that of a man who is a local resident but hails from Kerala. Ashraf Sheryy Thamarassery is the man who helped with the completion of all the procedures and the repatriation of Sridevi’s body in Dubai after she passed away due to accidental drowning in her hotel room.
Ashraf Sherry Thamarassery has been helping many others who are in a similar situation and need help with the clearance of documents from Dubai officials. “For them, you or me, it’s all the same and everyone is equal. If someone dies in their room, they will take them to the hospital and then to be checked at the police mortuary,” Thamarassery told a leading news agency in an interview late Tuesday night. “It’s the same process, whether Dubai or Sharjah or any emirate. … Whether you’re poor or rich, it doesn’t matter,” Ashraf added further.
Ashraf runs a mechanic store South of Dubai where a huge contingent of Indian population is found normally. Ashraf says that he does the philanthropic activity only to gain blessings. “To earn blessings, but also when someone dies here, people don’t know how to manage the repatriation procedures, that’s why I do it,” Thamarassery added further in his interview.
