In a development that is bound to send Tamil star Vijay’s fans into a state of frenzy, the AWBI has finally issued an NOC to his ‘Mersal’ and essentially cleared the way for its release. A few days ago, the CBFC had made it clear that would not grant the film a certificate till the makers got an NOC from the AWBI. In fact, a source had also said that the issue cropped up as the makers had not taken the necessary permissions for a shoot involving animals.
“The team started shooting after getting pre-shoot permissions from us. They have used a lot of animals in the film and they got permissions for this part by part. For a shoot that happened in Binny Mills, we came to know that they were shooting with animals and birds for which they did not take permission for — macaque, cockatoos, pigeons and snake,” the source had added.
Well, now that the certificate has been granted, it is only a matter of time before it gets cleared for release. In other words, a Mersal Diwali is upon us.
In case you did not know, ‘Mersal’ is touted to be an action-drama and has been directed by Atlee. In it, Vijay will be seen in three different avatars. Besides ‘Thalapathy’, the film also features Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead. ‘Mersal’ will be Vijay’s second release of the year. He was last seen in the actioner ‘Bairavaa’ which also had Keerthy Suresh in the lead.
