Allu Sirish was last seen in 1971: Beyond Borders which marked his debut in Malayalam cinema and appeared alongside The Complete Actor Mohanlal. In Telugu, Sirish was seen in ‘Srirastu Subhamastu’ directed by Bujji and also starred Lavanya Tripathi in it. The film was a good hit in his career and changed the direction of his career. In ‘Srirastu Subhamastu’, what one could notice was Sirish looked his best, was more at ease in front of the camera and the stiffness in his acting went out of the way, and all this paved way for a better screen presence for the young Allu lad. Sirish will now be seen in a film titled ‘Okka Kshanam’ which is directed by ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’ director Vi Anand. The story of the film is said to be on the lines of ‘Parallel Lives’ and has an interesting narrative to it, according to the makers. Actress Surbhi will be romancing Sirish in the film and Avasarala Srinivas and Seerat Kapoor will be seen playing the other couple. Okka Kshanam is hitting the screens today and we take a minute here to look at the best reasons to watch this film.
When the first look poster of the film was released, it created an interesting buzz around the film with its concept. Based on the lines of parallel life, Okka Kshanam is said to be about the couple, Sirish and Surbhi, who encounter a similar situation and how to manage to come out of it becomes the crux of the story.
When Sirish made his debut as a lead actor, not many were convinced that he would be ale to go on any further. However, he proved them all wrong. ‘Srirastu Subhamastu’ worked for Sirish and that boosted his career. And now, in Okka Kshanam, its getting better and better. He will be one of the main reasons many movie-buffs would want to watch the film first-day-first-show.
Not many might be aware that director Vi Anand was an assistant to filmmaker A.R.Murugadoss. Anand has this uncanny knack building up stories with some striking episodes and incidents in it which has made one of the creative filmmakers of today. And coming up with a film with such a subject, Okka Kshanam will draw a lot of audiences to the cinema halls.
For a film of a thrilling genre, sound becomes one of the most important things. And Mani Sharma is one of the music composers in South Indian cinema who had proved many a times that he is best at background music. With him onboard the film, expectations will be sky high on the film.
Director of the film, Vi Anand, says that the story of the film didn’t start with the concept of ‘parallel life’ initially when the story was being built. “I’ve been a huge fan of the sci-fi genre right from my childhood. But Okka Kshanam did not start out as a film exploring ‘parallel life’ at all! It started off as story about two characters finding out about the lives of another couple. While developing these characters I thought, what if I inserted the concept of parallel life into it all? I did and it gave a whole new life, meaning and freshness to the film. The conflicts that arise as a consequence is what the film is now all about,” Vi Anand had said recently.
Anand further breaks down the concept and explains, “We all believe in the notion that destiny is fixed. Similarly, falling in love isn’t in your control either. So what happens when destiny is pitted against love? Can true love alter destiny? is that even possible, or will it surrender? What happens when two such powerful forces are pitted against each other? That is the conflict point that the narrative explores.”
Okka Kshanam also stars Srinivas Avasarala and Seerat Kapoor too paired opposite each other and will be seen playing pivotal roles. Speaking further about the script, Anand says, “The script has multiple layers to it and to make such a complex concept relatable to people was not an easy task. Every scene in the film is interrelated. What look like simple and ordinary characters or scenes at first will all have a hidden meaning, which will become apparent only in the end. Every scene, shot and detail has been put in with an intention. The film is going to have a lot of dots that will connect by the end.”
