Sometime ago, a leader from the Puthiya Tamizhagam Katchi had threated to file a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against Kamal Haasan if he failed to apologise for a derogatory word used on his show ‘Bigg Boss’. Explaining his actions, the leader had said the use of the derogatory word did go down well with members of a particular community.
“The actor did not even condemn it or talk about this in the show despite many people raising this issue. So we demanded that he and the channel owners publicly apologise for it. We waited for two days and they have not even considered our request. So we have decided to go ahead with a 100 crore defamation case against the actor and the channel,” he had added.
Now, in a shocking development, the leader has actually gone ahead and filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’.
Well, this is quite a serious situation and it will be worth watching how Haasan reacts to it.
Interestingly, this is not the only controversy surrounding the show. Sometime ago, a fringe group had asked the authorities to ban ‘Bigg Boss’ and arrest Haasan. Explaining their demands, they said that the show is an insult culture.
On a related note, this is busy time for Haasan. He has two big films in his kitty namely ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ and ‘Sabaash Naidu’. ‘Sabaash Naidu’ is a spy-comedy and also features Shruti Haasan in the lead. On the other hand, ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ is a spy-thriller and s a sequel to ‘Vishwaroopam’.
