Talking about the film at its audio launch, the star had said that it made him more responsible as a person.
“After working in Velaikkaran, I feel more responsible. I’ve worked in a television commercial once. I promise now that I won’t endorse any brands henceforth in my career. There’s an emotional sequence in the story, which has led me to this decision. I’m not at liberty to talk about the scene now. But, it left an indelible mark on me,” Sivakarthikeyan had said. Sivakarthikeyan also added that he has decided not endorse any products and will not appear in any commercials ever. “I won’t endorse any brands & act in ads henceforth. “After Thani Oruvan, I wanted to evolve as a better director and for that, I believed I had to come up with an even superior antagonist. So, instead of creating the character and casting the actor, I wanted to rope in an actor who would inspire me to create such an antagonist. With Fahadh on board, I knew I had the best and my challenge was to give him a role that would feed off of his thirst as a performer. It motivated me to create something great and after watching the output, I believe I am on the right track,” he had told a leading daily.
Similarly, while talking about Nayan’s role, in the film, he had said that her character does full justice to her stature.
“I think an artiste should get into the skin of the character he/she is playing and Nayanthara does it brilliantly. She attends workshops for her films and I am not sure how many others do it. Her experience shows in every scene she performs and our challenge now is to make this film bigger and better than Thani Oruvan. I’ve to do justice to her image,” he had told a leading daily.
