Kamal Haasan’s highly anticipated Tamil spy thriller Vishwaroopam 2 is a film that audience are eagerly waiting to look forward after the end of long 48 days Tamil Cinema strike. The shooting of the film went on floors in November last year and now, the film is all set to release this summer. Recently, there were reports that the Tamil version of the film has got all clearance by CBFC with UA certificate. However, the recent reports suggest that the Censor Board has demanded 17 cuts for the Hindi version for it to be passed with a U certificate. Reportedly, it is due to the religious and political sattire in the film. However, there has been no response regarding the same by the filmmakers. Well, Vishwaroopam was in the news for all the wrong reasons. The film had a tough time to release in 2013. Looks like the sequel might also face few hurdles before the release.
The first film centred around Wisam and his team closing in around Al Qaeda’s sleeper. The sequel will follow the story of an Indian spy, played by Haasan himself. The second part is expected to be intense and action filled. Last year, while talking about Vishwaroopam 2, Haasan had said that all the characters from part 1 will be a part of the sequel.
“My producer was multitasking with many films but I have now taken over the responsibility of taking my product to the audience. All the actors are returning, even those who died in the first part. The surprise new addition is Waheeda Rehman ji,” he had told a leading daily.
Vishwaroopam 2 is a spy-thriller and is a sequel to the 2013 release Vishwaroopam. The film also stars Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar and Shekhar Kapoor, the film has music by Ghibran. The long-delayed Vishwaroopam 2 is expected to release this June or July.
Besides Vishwaroopam 2, Kamal Haasan also has Sabash Naidu and Indian 2 in his kitty. Sabash Naidu is a spy-comedy and also features his daughter Shruti Haasan in the lead. As far as Indian 2 is concerned, it is a sequel to 1996 classic Indian and is being directed by maverick filmmaker S Shankar.
