There were reports doing rounds that Kamal Haasan and director Shankar will team up for the sequel of the 1996 release ‘Indian’ but were not confirmed officially. But now, it’s now been confirmed officially that Shankar will join hands with Kamal Haasan for ‘Indian 2’ and will be made as a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu. ‘Indian 2’ will be produced by popular Tollywood producer Dil Raju and will be dubbed into Hindi as ‘Hindustani 2’. This development about the sequel of ‘Indian’ will be a great news for fans of Kamal Haasan who loved him in ‘Indian’ as a patriotic man who is on a mission to end corruption.

Our sources confirm that Dil Raju will produce both the version, Tamil and Telugu, and the more details will be made official soon. The shooting of the film is likely to begin from April, 2018. The news of ‘Indian 2’ comes at a juncture when Kamal Haasan is contemplating politics and planning to form a party of his own. And with the theme of ‘Indian’ being about patriotism and corruption, and Kamal Haasan’s recent statements being about ending corruption in the state with his political steps, ‘Indian 2’ seems to be coming at the right moment and much to the joy of the fans of Kamal Haasan.

Kamal Haasan is currently busy with his assignment of Bigg Boss Tamil Season-1 and also holding meetings for his political aspirations. Kamal also has Sabaash Naidu up his sleeve, which might start rolling anytime soon. Shankar, on the other hand, is working on 2.0 starring Super Star Rajinikanth which is a sequel to his 2010 release, Enthiran.
