Karthi’s ‘Theeran Adhigaram Ondru’ recently found itself in the midst of a controversy when a certain section of the audience objected to the use of the word ‘Kuttrapparambarai’ in the film. Now the makers have reacted to the controversy and decided to delete the word from all future broadcasts. Confirming this, the makers apologised for hurting sentiments and said that they never wanted to offend or insult anyone.
“Theeran is a film only about the various dacoits that occurred in the states of India. It does not depict any single clan in a bad light. No community thrives based on murder and robbery and we have portrayed any such thing. Still, since a section of the people have taken offense, we, on behalf of the Theeran team, apologise and regret for the same. The word ‘Kuttrapparambarai’ and the scene involving the ‘book’ will be removed from the future broadcasts on TV or online platforms,” read a press release from the makers.
Well, we sincerely hope that this clarification puts all controversy to rest.
