The cast and crew of VIP 2 which included Dhanush, Amala Paul, Soundarya Rajinikanth and Kajol launched the audio and trailer of the film in Mumbai amidst much fanfare. Kajol and Dhanush were asked the most questions by the media present at the event and they answered them all with great patience.

Dhanush speaking to media spoke about a lot of things. Speaking to a leading channel, Dhanush spoke about the recent blockbuster Baahubali and said,” Nobody can take away the success of Baahubali, especially what it has done to Indian cinema. It has really given us a great lesson, even Dangal for that matter. What it did in the overseas market is unbelievable. It’s phenomenal! Perhaps we were underestimating our market. And we cannot deny the fact that the aforementioned films have given us a boost.”

I think that circle is shrinking and it’s going to be gone very soon. It’s easier to expand your boundaries and explore new regions for your films now. It’s healthy, especially right now with digital platforms taking over,” added Dhanush.

Actress Kajol, who is making a comeback in Tamil films with Vellaiilla Pattadhari 2, said, “For that matter, look at Avengers in the Hindi dubbed version. It’s not only us to them, it’s them to us as well. It’s like an entire market has opened up both ways. Only takeaway is that nothing can stop a good film. And you can take it anywhere.”

VIP 2 is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and is being produced by Dhanush himself. The film is hitting the screens worldwide on July 28th.
