Actor-filmmaker-singer Dhanush on Sunday launched “Koova”, the first single under Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Ondraga Originals, aimed at promoting independent music.

“Happy to launch Gautham Menon’s Ondraga Originals’ first single ‘Koova’. Loved the music and vocals. And great choreography by Satish. Enjoy,” Dhanush tweeted.

Menon, who directed Dhanush in “Enai Noki Paayum Thota”, felt he was the perfect fit to launch the new track on the digital platform given his success with “Kolaveri di”.

“He put a Tamil song on Hindi radio stations. The song jettisoned across the world. He is the reason we take our ‘views’ so seriously.”A phenomenal actor, multi-faceted, singer, songwriter, producer, director. Ondraga Originals’ first single released by Dhanush. Privileged,” tweeted Menon. Dhanush’s Kolaveri Di was a rage across the country. It was the chartbuster for many months.

“Koova” is a first in a series of songs, originals and independent of films under the banner. The song depicts how a person can rise from ashes. The lyricist compares a person to an insomniac owl and a person who faces rejection. The peppy tunes of the song have been pictured on Chhina Poonu and the song has been written by Madhan Karky.

On the work front, Dhanush’s film with Gautham Vasudev Menon, Enai Noki Paayum Thota is slated to release next month. The film that has been long delayed will see Dhanush playing a powerful character. The songs from the film have been appreciated by the audience. This collaboration with Gautham Menon is much awaited by the audience.

“The film is back on track. The last schedule will be completed in the next couple of weeks. Dhanush has shaved off his thick beard for this portion. He plays a college student and will be seen sporting a clean-shaven look throughout the film,” a source from the film’s unit had said.
