Dhanush to start his second directorial from August 2018

The multi-faceted Dhanush is currently shooting for his first association with Gautham Menon Ennai Noki Paayum Thota which was on the back burner for a very long time. Post wrapping up the schedule of this film, Dhanush will start shooting for Maari 2 which will have Sai Pallavi playing the leading lady. And while all this is happening, buzz in the Tamil film circles is that Dhanush may kick star his second directorial venture in 2018. Speculations are high that the film may well be the sequel to his first directorial Paa Paandi, however, sources close to the actor reveal that the genre of his second film might be totally different. According to latest reports, the shooting of the film may start from August 2018 and Dhanush is finalising the cast and crew of the film. An official announcement may soon be made by the actor himself. It is also being said that ‘Mersal’ producer Sri Thenandal Films may bankroll this project which may have few top stars.

Dhanush will soon be making his debut in Hollywood with a film titled ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’ which is being directed by Ken Scott. The actor recently wrapped up the shooting of the film and has commenced work on Gautham Menon’s film. Dhanush seems quite excited about his debut in Hollywood and sources close to the actor reveal that he has worked very hard for his role in the film. “What’s great is I get to work with a great actor, Dhanush, who is a huge star in India, he’s a great actor, but also a great dancer, a great singer, he has a unique way of dancing and moving, he’s just very charming,” director Ken Scott had recently said in an interview.

The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir was initially supposed to be directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Marjane Satrapi but later went to Ken Scott for unknown reasons. Besides Dhanush, the film also stars Berenice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi, Erin Moriarty, Seema Biswas and Laurent Lafitte. There were rumours that Uma Thurman will be part of this film but the makers have not confirmed this part officially.
