Actor-director Dhanush is currently on a roll and has now left his impact internationally as well. The actor who recently went to Cannes international film festival 2018 for his upcoming international flick ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’, has geared up for the release of his next film Kaala starring Rajinikanth. Dhanush is also preparing to begin his second directorial venture. Amid all these, Dhanush makes a huge revelation that he will be working on next Bollywood project to be helmed by Aanand L Rai.
In a recent interview to Bharadwaj Rangan, Dhanush made a revelation that he will be doing Aanand L Rai film, who is currently busy with his Bollywood project starring Shah Rukh Khan. However, Dhanush refused to elaborate on his next with Rai as it was way early to talk about it. He said, “I think they are looking to release Zero in December, so the pre-production work on my film will only begin then.”
Also, Dhanush starrer VIP 2 was released last year and opened to a good response at the box office. An action-comedy, it was a sequel to the 2014 release ‘VIP’ and featured Dhanush-Kajol in the lead. Well, now the makers of the film are looking forward to adding another series to the franchise. Dhanush also revealed that the team is looking forward to making VIP 3. He said, “We are looking for ideas, so yes, VIP 3 will happen.”
That’s not all; Dhanush also revealed some interesting details about his next directorial project on which he has spent almost a year during the pre-production stage. He said, “One must spend time and make all decisions during pre-production, which will lead to a smooth execution. This will save money and time. In fact, many were restless and asked me why I was spending so much time on pre-production for my project, and explained that things could be done on the set. I had to tell them that those decisions on the set involve money and put my foot down.”
Adding further about the project, Dhanush revealed, “A Rs 100 crore budget film, we have compressed it during pre-prod to make it in under Rs 70 crore. Also, Rs 70 crore is not my market. So we had to think of the other markets that can explored — be it the north, Telugu, Malayalam or international. We wanted to see the project on table. In fact, it is now on Rs 4-5 crore profit.”
