Actor Vijay Deverakonda will be making his debut in Tamil with NOTA which will be directed by Anand Shankar. NOTA will be produced by K.E.Gnanavelraja and will be a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil. The cast and crew of the film interacted with the media yesterday, 09th March 2018, in Chennai after they released the first look poster of the film on social media platforms. Speaking at the press meet, Vijay said that he is doing a Tamil film because of the enormous love he received from Tamil audience. “For everyone from Tamil Nadu who sent me so much love, you will see me perform in my own voice. All this love made me go bilingual,” said Vijay Deverakonda.
Speaking about how NOTA happened, Vijay said, “After Pellichoopulu became a huge success, a lot of offers from Tamil were coming in but I didn’t want to do a Tamil film unless I know the language. If I do it, I want to do it perfectly. And then Arjun Reddy released and by then I had met Gnanavelraja quite a number of times. Gnan kept telling me that there is a good script by Anand Shankar and listen to it once. I thought let me just listen to it even though I didn’t have any intention of doing it, and I met Anand. And when I met him for the first time, I was shooting continuously and was dead tired, and hence could not focus on his narration. And I asked Anand if he could meet later again for the narration. And this time I was all prepared for it. After the end of the narration, I loved it so much that I called Gnan and told him we are doing it.”
NOTA, besides Vijay and Mehreen, will also feature Sathyaraj in an important role. Here are few photos from the press meet of NOTA starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mehreen Pirzada:
