Shortly after Vishal’s ‘Thupparivaalan’ opened to a positive response from movie goers, director Suseenthiran took to Twitter and shared his views about the film. Praising director Mysskin, he said that his latest offering is at par with Hollywood films thanks to its top-notch stunt sequences and cinematography. However, at the same time, he stressed that –unlike Mysskin’s ‘Anjathey—‘ ‘Thupparivaalan’ lacks a strong emotional connect.
“The way Mysskin has conceived every scene in the film is top notch. The stunt sequences were equalent to the Hollywood films, and Karthik’s cinematography was confined and focused. Myself and my sister watched the film on a preview show. Though the film had been shot on a magnifying big scale, I felt that the film lacked an emotional connect, which Mysskin’s Anjathey had. I didn’t feel the emotional connect. So, I was thinking about the possibility of this film’s commercial success while coming out of the theatre. I asked my sister, and she told she enjoyed the film very much,” he added.
Suseenthiran went on to add that he was merely stating his opinion and really wanted the film to do well at the box office.
“This is just my opinion that I felt like sharing with you all. I truly want, and hope, the film becomes a blockbuster success,” he said.
On a related note, ‘Thupparivaalan’ is a detective-thriller and has been praised thanks to its solid screenplay. Besides Vishal, it also features Andrea Jeremiah in the lead.
