Noted director AMR Ramesh is well known making films which deal with sensitive real-life issues. In the past, he has made movies on topics such as the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. And now, he is all set to make another movie on a real person/incident. According to a leading daily, his next film will be based on the life of DIG Roopa who recently grabbed attention when she exposed the VIP treatment given to Sasikala in Bengaluru prison. Confirming that such a film is on the cards, ARM Ramesh said that he has already obtained permission from Roopa and is now busy with research/pre-production activities.
“Yes, I have taken due consent from Roopaji and I’m now in the process of researching the various issues involved. Roopa madam has earlier exposed large-scale irregularities in the prison system like drug abuse by inmates, special treatment to Abdul Karim Telgi of the fake stamp paper scam, but it was her exposing Sasikala, which made her an overnight sensation. I need full proof of all the happenings as they are imperative for me before I proceed with the script-writing,”
Ramesh went on to state that Nayanthara and Anushka Shetty are frontrunners for the role. However, nothing has been finalised yet.
“The frontrunners would either be Nayanthara or Anushka Shetty for the role of a powerful police officer. It will take one more month to complete the final script. We will finalise the cast after that,” said Ramesh.
Well, it will be worth watching who ultimately bags the role and we hope that ARM Ramesh finds success with the film.
