While reviewing the recently released ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ a noted journalist said that she walked out of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer just the same way she had left a screening of Vijay’s ‘Sura’ many years ago. This dig at ‘Thalapathy’ created quite a buzz on the social media and soon some self-proclaimed Vijay fans began insulting the lady in the worst ways possible. In fact, some of them even went to the extent of of threatening her well-being.
Now, Vijay has broken his silence on the matter. He recently issued a statement and said that everyone has the right to criticise his films. He went on to add that no one should ever humiliate a lady for merely doing her job.
“I have the utmost respect for woman in the society. There is freedom of opinion to criticize anyone’s film by anyone in this country. ln my opinion, in any circumstances, no one should reveal contemptuous or disgraceful comments on the woman. Everyone should respect womanhood. I urge you not to post anything in internet with the intent to harm or offend a woman,” said the actor.
We are really happy that Vijay has taken such a firm statement on the matter and hope that his self-proclaimed fans stop trolling the journalist.
On a related note, Vijay will soon be seen in the eagerly-awaited ‘Mersal’. Touted to be an action-drama, it has been directed by Atlee and will hit screens this year.
