We caught up with Hansika Motwani and in an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla South, the actress speaks about her Malayalam debut film ‘Villain’ and the experience of sharing screen space with ‘The Complete Actor’ Mohanlal.

Villain will be your first Malayalam film. Do you think your debut in Malayalam is happening a bit late considering the number of films that you have already done in Tamil and Telugu?

Not exactly I had been getting lot of offers from the beginning. I’m a person who would always take things slow and I’m no way in a Hurry. I always believed whichever field you are, you need to be the best.

Villain has a heavy star cast. How was the experience of working with these tops stars?

Yes that’s right. It was  actually a great learning experience for me. Working with legend was exciting. You get to learn more each day.

You also have Gulebakavali in your kitty. Tell us about that.

Yes, Gulebakavali is directed by Kalyaan. It’s like going back home fun filled moments as he was the one who introduced me.

Now that you’ve done so many films in Telugu and Tamil, have you thought of dubbing for yourself? Will we see that happening?

I love South Indian languages and I respect them a lot. I know to speak and understand as well. Life is given to a movie through dubbing it should be with perfection. When you speak a language, pronunciation should be proper and I’m not confident about that.

You’re in the top league of actresses along with Kajal, Samantha and Shruti Haasan among others. Do you find a sense of competition among each other?

They all are good friend of mine. I always compete with myself. It’s me and me alone. Each film is a challenge to me and I will always try to excel better and best from my previous one.
